Star Wars Peeps

It’s Easter. If I was going to make some special sweet treat it had to be Star Wars related right? Well, when I came across these, there was no way I was gonna not attempt making them for my little Padawan.

Clone Trooper Easter Peeps! How adorable is that?? Well, they turned out to be a lot more difficult (as most of these crafts I find are) than I thought. But once I was committed I couldn’t turn back.

It turns out that the Wilton edible markers are the only thing I could find anywhere near where we live. And they absolutely DO NOT work on candy melts. So if you’re gonna try it, take note and get the Americolor food markers she recommends. I ordered mine on Amazon. Well of course after like making 5 clone trooper peeps my black marker started dying. I panicked since I had promised the little guy I would bring them by for snack time at school that day. So I had to improvise on my own.

I am NOT an artist at all. The only way I made the clone troopers even remotely presentable was because I had something I could follow. I had to come up with these non-clone trooper Star Wars peeps on my own. Sooooo stressful. My attempt at Chewy here  still makes me laugh. But hey at least the kids knew who he was.

And thank goodness 4 year olds are not hard to please or impress. They were a hit. Yay!

I did have a couple of peeps that didn’t meet my 5yo’s expectations. When we got home and he saw I had 3 more blank peeps left, he had me re-do Master Yoda. “But try and do it better this time mom” is what he told me. So this was my 2nd attempt at Yoda. Oh and he also wanted Jengo Fett now. Thank God for the internet. I was able to google them both to get better detail.

Yes I DID have fun making them :)
