So it’s been raining. And I’ve been busy. Since we’ve been cooped up indoors I decided to learn to sew!

I had bought this sewing machine used on Craigslist about 8 months or more ago. It’s been sitting under my desk collecting dust.

Until now.

My friend Anna, and supermom photographer, crafter and now seamstress, flooded my Pinterest feed with these insanely adorable things she was making or going to make. That was enough to get me inspired to at least attempt to learn how my machine worked.

So… after FOUR hours of just trying to figure out, threading, bobbins, presser foots, tension and sewing a straight line, I finally set up my little sewing machine! Yay!

And this is the first thing I made to practice my straight line sewing! (Well I’m not going to show you the ugly tote I made from scrap materials before this one).
A pretty and SIMPLE top for my baby girl. I found it here at this link. Cute yeah? (here’s where you nod your head and pretend you don’t see all the crooked seams and loose threads hanging)

I picked a bright color fabric for the top to fight our gloomy week. It made me happy to see her in it :)

Yes there were a lot of little things wrong with it. But I won’t do too many closeups so you can pretend it’s just perfect! :)

I learned A LOT by just diving in and making something. Sewing is SO addictive. My Pinterest feed is no full of cute little things I want to try. Skirts, ruffles, covers, pincushions…. Oh the possibilities! :)
