One evening during our stay at the winery, my boy Rex and I took a stroll down to the vineyard. I was hoping to catch some golden light before the sun set behind the hills, but I had just missed it.
Oh well, some times I just take what I can get. This little stroll with my oldest did require some begging and a little bribery. It’s just how it goes these days. He’s had 6 years of my big camera pointed in his face. I don’t blame him for being tired of it. But as always, he’s a good sport about it all once we actually get going.

Even though I didn’t get any of the pretty backlit shots I’d been hoping for, I was still happy to shoot in the evening’s diffused light. As you can see the leaves and grapes are still young and green. They are not as vibrant as the fall colors we’d shot in last time, but I love how the muted background allows my little boy to stand out from his surroundings more.

We didn’t stay too long. I have learned to capture the shots I want quick before his patience runs out. So I still have a happy little 6yo running all the way back to the main house.

And as we walk in, this little cutie is running up to greet us. Slightly annoyed that we left her, but mostly happy we’re back!
