Why Monday Morning Was So Rough

This past weekend we had some old friends in town for the Escape From Alcatraz race. Besides the race itself we got to spend some fun times with them running around the city. Mostly at restaurants though… :)

My little Jack-Jack learned to dance which made her walking better. And my Rex found a new love interest. He’s heartbroken she lives on the other coast.

After her Happy Hour dance marathon to start the weekend, she decided to tackle the streets of SF. I can’t believe how quickly she gave up the crawling once she decided she was done.
Yes that’s a spoon my little klepto walked out of the restaurant with.

I squeezed in some shopping with my son at some point. He picked out this rain jacket from Zara kids. He has yet to take it off other than to take a bath and go to bed.

We ended the evening with more delicious food at Slanted Door at the Ferry Building.

And after the kids left with their sitters, the adults topped of the night with some stiff cocktails at the new Burritt Room.

Good times. But I was definitely hurting Monday morning!

Toast Brunch

Another beautiful morning, another chance to get out and brunch in the neighborhood.

Another day following my family from behind with the camera.

Toast is my son’s FAVORITE place to eat at. If he had his way he would have French Toast for breakfast, lunch, snack and dinner. It has replaced peanut butter and jelly sandwiches as his go-to meal. And Toast has the most delicious French Toasts!

It’s always busy for brunch so we wait. Now that they have each other to keep themselves entertained, my kids are quite patient waiting for our table when we have to.

Today Jack-Jack learned to use a straw! Yay! No need to panic anymore when we forget the sippy cup!

She does this face ALOT. And I’ve discovered that when I do it too, we TOTALLY LOOK ALIKE! *happy dance*

And along with turning 1, Jack-Jack is less and less anxious among strangers. She’s hamming it up for the camera here, but this is exactly what she does too with random strangers who stop and smile at her.

Ah, I remember how good this next year or so is before the terrible twos kick in.
