Every year we celebrate his birthday more than once. I am not quite sure when I started doing this, but I’m really beginning to regret it. We do something special at home and as a family on his actual birthday each year. That has slowly evolved to becoming an all-day outing this year.

We had birthday gifts in the morning as soon as he opened his eyes!

Jack-Jack just watches longingly at all the gifts her big brother is tearing through but keeping out of her reach.

He does finally let her play with the boxes. She’s in heaven. Ah toddlers. Still so easy to please. Not for much longer though.

Then comes the big old cake.

And just like years past, we have it for breakfast!

Usually we just relax at home and play/build/ride our new toys. This year, we packed up and drove south to Malibu Grand Prix for some racing fun with a little put-put golf thrown in. Rex even got to invite one friend! He was in heaven.

Jack-Jack was in amazingly good spirits despite having skipped her nap to play right along with everyone.

She did spend a good part of the day watching from the sidelines due to height restrictions…

But a bucket of popcorn and a birds-eye-view of the action and she was a happy camper!

We were pretty exhausted by the end of the day but Rex had a grand old time and we still have more celebrating to do throughout the week! I may be a little MIA on my blog for awhile till the final party is over!
